Pop Culture:Pop Culture: The Soft Drinks Podcast Board Dublin: Non-alc drinks, loads of board games

Today, I had drinks with my friends in Euston. We chose the location because it was convenient for all of us to get to. They are such a lovely couple—I met them two years ago, but at that time, we were just online friends as we studied at the same language school. We became close because the guy attended the same university as I did. I would often see them together on campus, even though the girl wasn’t from our university. When the weather was nice, they would have picnics on the campus playground. The guy is from Spain, and the girl is from Italy. I’m a bit envious of how great they look together—they’ve been together for more than three years, but they still have so much in common and genuinely enjoy each other’s company.

Today, I listened to a podcast on Spotify, which is unusual for me since I usually listen to Apple Podcasts. I was on the tube and found it interesting to hear about a non-alcoholic bar in Dublin, especially since Ireland is known for its drinking culture. The place offers alcohol-free drinks and board games, and the owner mentioned that the most popular game is chess, where two people compete against each other. While chess isn’t a difficult game and can easily be played at home, the important aspect is the community and who you’re playing with. It’s definitely a good business idea. Initially, I was biased, thinking that a non-alcoholic bar wouldn’t be popular in Ireland, but after listening to the story, I realized it’s actually a promising market.
